MRAC creates new video clip

WINNIPEG - The Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council (MRAC) has added a new project clip to its already outstanding promotional video. The new clip features the Farmers’ Markets Association of Manitoba (FMAM) project titled Organizational Structure and Leadership Capacity Building. It was shot at the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market this summer and includes comments by Dianna Mae Hocaluk, FMAM executive director.

"Enabling organizations to adapt and innovate to meet the challenges constantly arising in the agriculture sector is one of the primary objectives of MRAC. Leadership skills and innovative marketing are key tools to enable success for organizations such as FMAM," said Ted Eastley, MRAC executive director.

This past March MRAC debuted its new promotional video, produced by Lank/Beach Productions in Winnipeg, featuring seven projects the council has supported over the past 15 years. The new FMAM clip has been added to the current video, which already features the following projects:

  • Canadian International Grains Institute: Biodiesel Pilot Project
  • Eastman Biofuels: Feasibility Study and Business Plan
  • Wedge Farms: Dehulled Oats Project
  • Pronto Energy Group: Waste and Biomass Destruction Pilot Project
  • Food Development Centre: Wheat-based Ethanol Processing Co-Products Utilization
  • Solanyl Biopolymers Inc: Development and Lifespan Evaluation of Biodegradable Greenhouse Pots Using Solanyl
  • Prairie Bioenergy Inc: Biomass Cubing Process Improvement and Agricultural Residue Processing for Alternative Fuel

MRAC was also pleased to recently receive a Canadian Farm Writers Federation (CFWF) award for the video. MRAC won the silver award in the Television News Category. Teresa Falk, MRAC communications officer, was in attendance at the CFWF awards ceremony on Sept. 17 in Niagara Falls, Ont. to accept the award.
