Pathways to Market: Commercialization Roadmapping
Project Description
This project will create a tool kit containing several decision models and resource planning tools specifically designed for food processing entrepreneurs. These tools will then be field tested with 20 entrepreneurs/companies and fine tuned for implementation on a larger scale in the future. To enhance application of these tools and also to ensure the best business advice is available for these new companies at the crucial start up time, experienced business advisors will be engaged to create boards of directors for these starting businesses. The results based on the outcome of the 20 companies will be summarized in a report of best practices that can be shared with other sector specialists. The results of the pilot project and feedback from participants and the pool of business advisors will be key inputs to the creation of a business model for a sustainable next phase.
Project Objectives
To assist entrepreneurs and small scale businesses to effectively plan and execute the multitude of steps and activities necessary to develop new value added food products and to launch new businesses effectively, efficiently and with minimal outlays of resources.
