Omega 3 Beef: Testing and Validation Trial
This project will determine quality and nutritional profile, including fatty acid profile, of beef from an Omega 3 enhanced feeding program for retail as functional meat products that would meet the requirements for a good source of Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids nutritional label claim for 14 retail cuts. If successful, this program will be made available to any beef producer who wishes to create value-added beef for the growing functional food market.
