Canadian Lamb Company Initiative
Project Description
This multiphase project is focused on the development and implementation of a new business and operations model for the lamb industry in Saskatchewan. The first phase is a feasibility study to determine if the concept of a Canadian Lamb Company (CLC) will be supported by key producers, processors, organizations, retailers and other stakeholders in the sector; the development of a strategic, business and operation plan for CLC and an assessment of the financial viability of the concept. The second phase is the establishment of a value chain that will include producers, processors, retailers, distributors, feed lot operators, food service distributors, broker's product development operations and other industry stakeholders.
Project Objectives
To develop and implement a new business and operations model for the lamb industry in SK via a feasibility study; a strategic, business and operation plan; a financial viability assessment; and the establishment of a value chain.
