Adaptation of LWR’s Manure Treatment System with In-Sequence and Membrane Filtration of Liquid Hog Manure
Project Description
The project proposes to install a single LWR system on one of Hytek Ltd's hog farming operations in Southeastern Manitoba and test for efficiency and effectiveness of its solid-liquid separation as well as the ammonia concentrate production. Further investigation will be performed on the clean water produced through the manure treatment and the potential for reuse of this water within the livestock operation. The results will determine whether this is a viable commercial product that could be considered the most economic and environmentally feasible manure treatment alternative available for Manitoba hog farmers.
Project Objectives
To determine at a full scale whether LWR's Manure Treatment System processes for manure treatment and creation of reusable water and ammonia concentrate streams can be done consistently and efficiently enough to be a cost effective and feasible alternative for hog farmers to comply with existing environmental legislation.
